Tailoring is a key message of the season. Sharp shoulders, belted, & row style tailoring (harder & sharper tailoring, using more shoulder pads & fabric) make up the new power suiting for Fall/Winter. Power suits are always in, but this Fall/Winter, you’re going to see this trend in abundance!
This season’s dark florals are found on modern, ladylike shapes. You’ll want to retire your yellow daisy print tops in order to make room for darker, moodier florals. Rich floral hues decorate dresses, tops, & skirts, proving this print is more alive than ever for the upcoming seasons!
This trend comes equipped with pockets for your essentials & built to stand the test of time! This trend continues to fall between chic safari & modern military. You’ll see combat/cargo trousers, oversized parkas & utilitarian jackets within this trend.
According to the Fall/Winter 2019 runways, camouflage is back and more versatile than ever. Designers within the more contemporary or high-end markets are tapping into this favorable trend now. Designers are mixing it with more chic & sophisticated prints or adding glossy accessories.
Metallics is one of the most festive Fall trends that the runway has seen in quite a while! This fabric is definitely a “blast-from-the-past”, but it is one that was so bright on the runway! Metallics are perfect for a night out— you can get this fabric on your choice of chic culottes or a gorgeous dress. This trend will have you ready to celebrate the new seasons in no time!
The lace trend is here to stay! Everyone can wear it & this trend can easily worked into your everyday wardrobe. A woman can never have enough lace in her wardrobe! Fashion houses like Prada & Marc Jacobs agree, as they all incorporated beautiful lacy pieces into their Fall/Winter runway collections.
Monochromatic styling is not only easy — it's stylish. Embracing the season's monochromatic trend means embracing “how” to piece together shades of cream, white, ivory & beige. There’s something so luxe about these wintery hues in a monochromatic look! So, step aside annoying Labor Day rule, our favorite monochromatic look this season is all white!
There's no denying the appeal of animal print – it's bold, daring & makes a statement all by itself. Over the past few seasons, animal print has infiltrated the mainstream. Fall/Winter is all about thinking outside the leopard print box… whether it’s Dalmatian spots, zebra stripes, tiger stripes, cow prints, or snakeskin, there’s an exotic print for everyone!
Chain print is a hit this year! We saw some early signs of this trend in the Spring & now it’s been spotted on several runways at New York Fashion Week. This bold trend features an abstract & colorful pattern featuring chains in all shapes and sizes. This look can be found on anything from blouses to dresses & jumpsuits. If you’re not sure how to work the trend, don’t worry, we will give you a helping hand!
If you think culottes are made only for the tall and thin, you have the wrong impression! There are lots of ways to wear the culotte trend this year. The voluminous, wide, short pants might appear hard to pull-off, but there will always be a good pair out there just for you! It doesn’t matter if you’re tall, petite, skinny, plus-sized, curvy or straight, there are great ways to make these bottoms look chic & modern!
The best thing about winter is snuggling right into your furry parka or lightweight—but very warm—puffer jacket. As the runways have shown, puffy outerwear is still trendy this year! There are several other trends to be aware of for the season….
- Leopard Print: Expect to see the classic leopard print on new outerwear styles this year!
- Leather: Expect to see short & long leather jackets.
- Faux Fur Jackets & Accents: You can expect to see faux fur and faux fur accents on new styles this season.
