It’s not just stitch details but also fit details that can elevate your pant look. With the right fit, that means no pulling in front or gaping pockets, the pattern hitting in the right places and the hem falling to the right length, a perfect pant is a strong building block for your entire outfit. Picking up where we left off with Seemingly Simple Details, stylist Leslee Hill picks four new pairs of pants to kick off our week!
Look for fit details that work for your body shape. Take the Gerard Darrel pattern cropped pant. It’s a great style for anyone who carries weight in their middle or has an apple shape with little waist definition. The pant doesn’t have a waistband so it will sit at your natural waist. Because of the side zip it lies flat across the front to help smooth things out.
Don’t fret, a good fit never skims on comfort. Opt for a pant with a contoured waistband, which means it has a little curve in the waistband so the back of the pant will sit higher than the front. This is a great feature for anyone with a little bigger asset because it allows for ease of movement while still keeping you covered. Try our Marc Cain jean or the Bianca Denver jean pant. With their stretchy woven fabric, you may find they are even more comfortable than your denim jeans.
Keep a clean look with a long tapered style leg. Like in this Basler pant with it pocket-less backside and subtle leather piping around the waistband and pocket edge. This look makes for a really clean silhouette. The colors are also the perfect to transition through the seasons.
